Frisco Lacrosse Coaching Staff

The Frisco Lacrosse Association conducts background checks on all of our coaches.  We hold our coaches accountable to be men and women of integrity and expect them to uphold the highest level of moral standards.

The Frisco Lacrosse program takes great pride in finding the most positive learning experience for their players.  Coaches are selected based on their background and passion for the sport.

Jerry Tucker - Frisco Black Bears Varsity Head Coach

Jerry was born in San Antonio, TX but spent his formative years growing up in Baltimore, MD where he attended McDonogh School in the 70's and played lacrosse and football.  He graduated from Harding University in 1984 where he also played football.  During the summer in college, Jerry played some lacrosse with the University of Oklahoma club team.  He held several coaching positions with the Allen Lacrosse program before being apart of starting Frisco's first HS lacrosse team.  Jerry has been a resident of Frisco since 1996.

Mark Levock - Head JV Coach

Mark grew up playing lacrosse on the east coast in Maryland, the hot bed of lacrosse.  He played football and lacrosse for Dematha High School in Hyattsville, MD.  Dematha is known nationally for its success in athletics.  Their football and basketball programs are nationally ranked in the top twenty consistently.  Mark's background as a linebacker taught him the toughness a player needs to carry on any field.  He graduated from West Virginia University and proudly supports his Mountaineers today.  Mark currently resides in Frisco, TX with his wife, Lisa, three children, and his dog, Rocco.

Kyle Fritz - Frisco Grizzly Black Coach

Kyle grew up in North Platte, Nebraska and he is a diehard Cornhusker fan.  "They put Husker Red in you at birth in Nebraska".  He grew up playing all traditional sports, football, basketball, wrestling, golf, and baseball although he did not find his love for lacrosse until college.  He played midfielder for 3 years on the Iowa State University Club team.  It is now his favorite sport to date. His son started playing a few seasons ago and he has been a head coach in the Plano Wrangler until moving to the Frisco Kodiaks.  He has coached youth sports since his kids picked up a ball or bat and now a stick.  As for his coaching philosophy, he is a strong advocate of teaching and instilling a team concept to all the players he has coached. Everyone of his players learns that, "A player that makes a team great is more valuable than a great player".  His wife Sally , son Brody, daughter Kendall, and dog Cahill have lived in Frisco for 5 years.

David Penrod - Frisco Grizzlies Coach

Coach Dave Penrod started playing Lacrosse in the Heros Summer League of Anne Arundel County Maryland in 1979.  He played two years of high school lacrosse outside of Annapolis, MD before moving to Munich, Germany where he continued his “wall ball” education.  After high school graduation he joined the US Army and started his “club” career playing for Colorado Springs Lacrosse club and then moved to Tampa, FlL where he played for the Tampa men's team for 18 years.  While he was a Sophmore in high school, David got the coaching bug and was an assistant coach for a 1st-2nd  grade team in Crofton, MD. From that time on he has coached at all levels.  From College (St.Leo University), high school, JV, Middle School and 1st- 5th graders, David has spent many summers teaching at lacrosse camps and day sessions throughout Florida.  He is also a founding member of the West Florida Lacrosse League Chapter of US Lacrosse.


Joe Quenet - Frisco Grizzlies Coach

Joe was born in New York, grew up in Toronto and played Box Lacrosse.  He entered the Navy which taught him much about discipline and respect and these two attributes he not only demonstrates but expects from his players.  Joe has coached youth sports for many years... baseball, AAU basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. He coached lacrosse in the Plano/Wrangler program for the last several years and was very successful, winning the Fall Houston Holiday Tournament with his Wrangler Black team.  The Frisco Lacrosse Association is very fortunate to have a coach that promotes great character in its lacrosse players.

Jason Gildea - Frisco Kodiak Black Coach

Jason has a wealth of experience in both coaching and playing the game.  He played for Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA and was recruited to play for Roanoke College, a nationally recognized NCAA Division III program on the east coast.  He was an All-American candidate his junior and senior year and captain of the team as a senior.  Jason was also a four year NCAA soccer player, earning all conference his junior and senior years while captaining the team.  He worked a number of lacrosse camps during his summers as a college student and after graduation, coached a 5th grade team for two years in Alexandria, VA.  He went on to play for the Capital Lacrosse Club in Washington, D.C. for a number of years which eventually became the foundation for the MLL.  He had the great opportunity to play against Team Canada and Team USA while playing for Capital Lacrosse.  Currently, Jason is the Assistant Coach, Defensive Coordinator of the Southern Methodist University Men's Lacrosse team in Dallas, TX.  He resides in Frisco, TX with his wife, Desiree, and three children, all future lacrosse stars.  Their dog and mascot of the Frisco Lacrosse program, Kodiak, is a proud member of the family.

Brendan White - Frisco Kodiak Black Coach

Brendan is originally from Northport on Long Island in the great Lacrosse state of New York.  He grew up with a stick in his hand and was recruited to play for
Roanoke College, a perennial nationally ranked Division III program in the NCAA.  He played in the midfield for Roanoke and had excellent face-off and shooting skills.  He moved to Colorado and attended Colorado State.  Colorado has become an up and coming lacrosse market like the North Texas area.  Now Brendan resides in The Colony, TX and the Frisco Lacrosse Program is fortunate to have such a knowledgeable player to teach our young kids.

John Hampton - Frisco Kodiak Coach

John grew up in Maryland where he played lacrosse and wrestled.  He was recruited to Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) to wrestle.  After college, John spent time with the Army's prestigious 82nd Airborne Division as an Infantry and Logistics Officer.  He now resides in Frisco and is a Dallas Firefighter/Paramedic.  John has coached youth lacrosse since the Fall of 2007 , and continues to play lacrosse on a men's post collegiate team.  John has a son Justin and daughter Jessica.

Kevin Lunde, MD - Frisco Kodiak Coach

Kevin’s involvement with lacrosse is a family tradition.  His father was a successful coach at Hempstead High School in Long Island, New York, winning county championships and producing numerous high school and college All-Americans.  His brother is one of the all time leading scorers for Div I Yale and is a Varsity coach in Reston, VA.  Kevin played goalie and attack for Div III Rensselaer.  He has coached other youth sports in Frisco and is glad to be surrounded by other enthusiastic “kids first” coaches in the Frisco Lacrosse Association.  He is excited to help spread the game of lacrosse to Frisco.  Kevin resides in Frisco with his wife, Marjanne, and their two kids, now third generation lacrosse players.

Sam Ditore - Frisco Kodiak White Coach
Sam grew up in Western Massachusetts, but cemented his passion for lacrosse while playing for TCU in the early 1990's.  While initially drawn by the speed and physicality of the game, his lasting memories are of the community and friendships built through camaraderie among teammates and opponents.  When his dusty old sticks were found in the garage a few years ago the spark was rekindled.  Sam believes in fostering a team-first environment where each player is give a meaningful role and encouraged to contribute to the best of his God-given abilities.  He currently resides in Frisco with his wife Kimberly, their daughter Lane and their son, Owen- a budding attack man.  They own Ditore Mayo Entertainment and are best know locally for being the filmmakers behind the I Am Second campaign

Joel Woolford - Frisco Bears Coach

Joel was born and raised in Southern CA.  He grew up active in many sports but his passion and most accomplished sports were baseball and basketball.  In 2006 he moved to Texas with his wife, Jacqueline, and his two sons who both play Frisco Lacrosse.  Soon after moving to Texas his boys were playing baseball and basketball and very quickly he became their coach.  A few years ago Joel's oldest son took up lacrosse and the whirlwind and excitement of lacrosse has swept away their entire family.  Joel has a passion for coaching and he enjoys teaching/coaching children as he watches them grow into fine young men and athletes.
Jose Colon - Frisco Bears Coach

Jose was first exposed to the game of Lacrosse at age 15, and enjoyed the fast pace of the game so much that it quickly became one of his favorite sports. After attending several Lacrosse camps at Rutgers University, NJ in the mid 80’s it became obvious that Lacrosse was a sport he would love for a long time along with his passion for Baseball. Jose received a scholarship to play Baseball for the Scarlet Knights as a freshman and during his junior year made the Scarlet Knights team as a non-scholarship walk on after spending two years on the teams practice squad. After playing for 2 years in the CNJ Lacrosse Club Team and RU practice squad, he earned a spot with the Knights and played for coach Tom Hayes for 2 partial seasons as a non-scholarship student athlete splitting time between lacrosse and baseball. After living in NJ for over 15 years, Jose decided to relocate to in Frisco, TX with his wife Kathy & son Dylan who also loves the game of Lacrosse and plays for the Frisco Cubs.

Paul Foto - Frisco Cubs Coach

Paul grew up in Burlington, Ontario, Canada and moved to Frisco in 2006.  He played competitive lacrosse and hockey from an early age and continued to play through college before he suffered an injury that ended his playing days.  Paul played Junior "A" Box lacrosse in Canada and several years of travel field lacrosse where he acquired National and Provincial Championships.  Paul's experience playing box lacrosse in Canada brings a different element to the lacrosse game here in Texas.  This is Paul's 3rd season as a Frisco Lacrosse coach and he is also involved as a coach for the C2C Elite U9 Lacrosse team.  In addition to lacrosse, Paul coaches his son's hockey team and is a level 4 certified coach with USA Hockey.  Paul resides in Frisco with his wife Laurie, daughter Avery, and son Ryan.
Bill Carlson - Frisco Cubs Blue Coach


Although born in New Jersey, Bill grew up in quite a few states and did not
find Lacrosse until his freshman year of high school in Flemington, NJ, and
continued to play lacrosse recreationally throughout college. Moving back
to Texas in the early 90's there was not much of an opportunity to play
except summer leagues and they became few and far. He was very excited to
hear that his neighbors (Jason and Desiree) started the Frisco Lacrosse
Association and shortly after signed up his youngest son and himself as a
coach. Since then he has had the privilege of coaching the cubs for the
past couple seasons and looking forward to the next. He has lived in Frisco
for 10 years with his 2 sons, his wife Melissa and their little dog
Jellybean.

Lance King - Frisco Cubs Coach

Lance King grew up in Frederick, Maryland.  While he was familiar with lacrosse, it was not an option in the local youth and high school sports programs.  Lance's sport of choice was soccer, both indoor and outdoor.  His love of lacrosse came as a fan when he attended Towson University during the early 90's.  Towson was a highly ranked division 1 program and the games were very exciting to him.  He quickly ran out to buy his first lacrosse stick and learned the rules so he would understand the game.  Lance's love of the sport continued to grow as he spent 12 years in the Baltimore area and attended 2 universities that continue to be top division I college lacrosse programs- Towson and Loyola.  Lance, his wife Beth, and their two children have lived in Frisco for 5 years.
Peter Kostos - Frisco Cubs White Coach

Peter began playing lacrosse at age 13 at the middle school level in suburban New York.  He continued playing lacrosse and attending every summer camp in the New York/New Jersey area through prep school in Massachusetts.  In addition to playing lacrosse, Peter also played football and basketball.  He continued to passion to play lacrosse at the College of Wooster (OH).  Lacrosse has remained a constant for Peter even after college where he has made numberous treks to the Final Four weekends when he lived in the Northeast and he was always playing lacrosse in summer leagues.  Prior to moving to Texas in the fall of 2010, Peter lived in Los Angeles, CA.  Peter currently resides in Frisco with his wife, Liz, and their two boys, Grant (current Cubs player) and Cole.
Frisco Girls Coaches
Beth King is our FLA girls coordinator and Head coach of the 7/8 Lady Wildcats.  She grew up in New Jersey playing every sport under the sun, but when she discovered the game of lacrosse her Freshman year in High School she finally found her love.  Beth was lucky enough to learn from the best.  Her high school coach was also the Head Coach of the US  Women's team.  "I remember my junior year hosting 2 players from England for the US Vs England match up.  It was an amazing experience"  As a mid-field attacker, she led her team in goals every year and was chosen second team all American and went on to play in the Garden State Games.  Beth attended Towson University in Baltimore where she took to the field her freshman year before hanging up her cleats to focus on her academics.  She is thrilled to be back on the field to share her knowledge of the game and to see girls lacrosse grow here in North Texas.
